The Livermore Granada Boosters awards a total of $16,000 in Olympian Scholarships each year. Three senior boys and three senior girls from Livermore and Granada high schools who best exhibit achievement in athletics, scholastics, citizenship, and sportsmanship are selected as Olympians. Four of these finalists, a female and male from each high school, are honored as The Olympian Award Winner. This honor is accompanied by a $2,500 Olympian Scholarship. The other eight finalists each receive a $750 Olympian Scholarship. All twelve finalists are recognized and awarded plaques at the Olympian Banquet, which is typically held on the 3rd Monday in May. Additionally, we award a Team Award, where one student-athlete from each of the 54 varsity sports is recognized for their integrity, sportsmanship, and inspirational leadership.
Once you submit your application, your coach will be sent an evaluation form. Your school’s Athletic Director will follow up to make sure your coach fills out the evaluation form. It is not your responsibility to follow up with your coach.
Before the awards banquet is held, each Olympian finalist gives a 3 to 5 minute speech to the Livermore Granada Boosters and local School District administration. The intent of the speech is for the Boosters and community to learn more about each finalist. The speech is not a contest, rather an informational talk to tell the Boosters and attendees how you achieved all you accomplished in your high school career. Tell us what helped form your expectations and realities, and what drove you to achieve your goals in school. Many of the Livermore Granada Booster Board Members feel that listening to the finalist speeches is the highlight of the year!
